There are not many French channels available in New Zealand. Two options are listed below - available from two different satellites.

The CCTV French channel available for free on the satellite Chinasat 6B, along with the CCTV9 English and Spanish, is a very good option for New Zealand. We recommend using a 2.1m C Band dish or larger to receive these channels, although in some areas it may be available on a 1.8m solid petal dish. See the official CCTV French website for more information on this channel.

The TV5 Monde channel is available free on the satellite Asiasat 3S. This requires at least a 2.3m dish, depending on your area. Also this satellite has a low look angle, meaning some areas will not be able to 'see' the satellite due to hills, trees or large buildings. See Lyngsat for details.
